Dr. Watkins is
one of the nation's leading experts in dental implant care. He is one of
292 dentists who are Diplomates of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant
Dentistry. To become a Diplomate, Dr. Watkins was required to practice implant
dentistry for at least five years and to pass an examination process measuring
the in-depth knowledge, proficient skills, and abilities required for practitioners
to provide comprehensive, safe, and effective oral implant care for the
public.
Dr. John C. Watkins has practiced dentistry in Lindale,
Texas since 1970. His practice includes all phases of general dentistry
and utilizes the most advanced techniques and equipment. Patients enjoy
world-class dentistry in a small-town, relaxed environment.
Dr. Watkins received his degrees from Tyler Junior College,
Stephen F. Austin, and Baylor College of Dentistry. He has continued his
dental education with over 3000 hours in continuing education to obtain
both the Fellow and Master Degrees from the Academy of General Dentistry.
In addition, he has completed a course of study in implant dentistry at
the Medical College of Georgia, Baylor College of Dentistry, Misch Implant
Institute at the University of Pittsburg and has gained over 1500 hours
in the study of dental implants.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry
as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant
Dentistry. In 1998 Dr. Watkins was selected as the nominee representing
the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry as dentist
of the year. He presently maintains membership in the Smith County Dental
Society, the East Texas Dental Society, the Texas Dental Society, the
Southwest Prosthodontic Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and
the American Association of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Watkins is married to Dr.Linda Watkins and they have
two daughters, Dr. Kerry Watkins, Candice Watkins, and one grandchild,
Jackson. The family enjoys boating, travel, and gardening. Below are some
